the $2000 question.

background info:
20years old
taking a year off school (completed 1st year)
working fulltime

reason for post:
dog spilt glass of milk all over my 15month old 12"pb (768/super/1.5)

questions:
-What would you do with $2000 to replace the powerbook?
-Im 95% going to go back to school next year so Im pretty sure I want to replace the laptop with another laptop. what would you do in this situation?
- intel or pimp PPC
- refurb, brand new or used?

-if intel would you get a loaded MB or a base(r) MBP?

I have an external LCD/KB/mouse combo already so im trying to stay away from the iMacs but the 20"er looks wonderful

Will Black Monday hold much for me?

Wow, that sucks have you confirmed that it is dead? I'd take the battery out and the keyboard off to let it dry out for a while.

If you think the MacBook is portable enough for you, go MacBook.

If it's too big, and/or if you need to run Adobe apps, go PowerBook and upgrade when you can.

I hope you can swing the educational discount now, since that will save you a lot if buying a new computer.

And sorry to hear about your milked out lapotp.

dude, if you're gonna do that, call up some apple stores and see if they have any 'refreshed' macbooks, the one you're lookin at was goin for $999, and that was before the new ones came out.. me another person on here got macbook pro with 2.16ghz core duo, 100gb, 1gb, 256mb vid, for $1599... refreshed deals seem to be the way to go..

he knew he did somthing bad and ran into the crawl space. when i went to get him he was shivering and now he is chilling with his piles of toys munching on a bone.

it was my fault, i went downstairs to reset the router, i hear the glass hit the table.

I guess he jumped onto my bed, onto the dresser (about 2 ft away) then up onto the mantle and then down onto the top of the desk, down to the lower area of the desk. guess he wanted to do the body right.

he could blow up my house and I would still love him to death.

Dog knocked the glass over, while the owner placed the glass too close to the PB. Bad combination of actions.

We feel bad for you but were glad you still love your dog,

I think you should stick with powerbooks the macbooks are hard to get used to, unless you go macbook pro.

Cheers,
