Lacie 250GB HD Porsche design $89 !

Part of Dell's 10 days of Deals promotion for Oct 18. A great price at $89, incl shipping. This is the USB 2 version but still well worth it. I expect it will sell out quickly at this price so don't hesitate.

I just did some reading on RFD about the encosure and lots of people are panning it. I was very tempted, but I already 2 enclosures I worry about dying, I don't need a 3rd.

The reviews on amazon are really really mixed.

I am willing to bet though more PC people are having problems then mac people.

I am also willing to bet its way better than my current external, but I don't know for sure...

Am I the only one that finds the Porshe design hideous? Good value though, just for the drive (as long as it's not Maxtor, which LaCie is fond of using...)

I would have to think someone here has one of these?
Anyone?

Does it have a HUGE power brick?

I've decided to give one a try.

Very tempting, especially after I heard that under Leopard you can boot from USB externals. But I will pass on this one, had three Oxford 911 based FW enclosure.
