Another bites the Apple....gets the juice...

My Girlfriend was always a windows user up until she met me that is...she is taking engineering at U of Guelph and thought she would need windows for her course...NOT! well sort of so we were undecided on a comptuer.

...we ended deciding and bought an Imac intel in February as I told her that we would be able to run windows eventually! Two months later Apple released bootcamp! so we bought windows to install for her.

So now she is using the mac with windows...the nice thing she was using windows less and less cause of frustration and not needing it as much as she thought. We now decided we need two computers and it helped that she ran into some extra cash. We went to Yorkdale mall as she wanted to see a macbook. I wanted the black one but we both decided to get the mid white one. She loves it! and the whole mac experience. She still needs windows for a few things though but thats fine I guess.

One question though....what is the battery life out of one of these macbooks? it seems alot less than my ibook g4? I also need to buy more ram for it as well...

Other than that....we are a happy mac unit...

Running many apps, and almost every port filled, (not power or line out) I got an estimate of 3 hours and 15 minutes!

The battery life seems to scale with usage drastically.
I typically get around 4hrs, but have gotten 5+ with bluetooth and wireless turned off and the screen dimmed a bit while taking notes.

Definetly keep the bluetooth and wireless turned off when you don't need them and dim the screen as possible. Don't keep a USB flash drive plugged in, mine seems to suck my battery.
