question from a paranoid hick...
Is it possible to bypass the Registration Information screen when setting up a new mac or install of Mac OS X?
Someone seems to think it is going be used to report their internet use to the United Nations.

It asks you if you want to submit it later I believe... so you can pass on it. To be reassuring, set it up before you connect to the internet.

Type a generic like iMac and then Command Q = then you can skip the whole annoying thing.

Hit Command+Q at the registration screen to skip it. If you don't want to register the computer, delete the registration file it creates in your home folder once you're logged in after skipping the registration step in the setup assistant.
Oh. Yeah. And that UN theory is pretty ridiculous.

That is incredibly funny/scary. Sounds like someones going to be a/illegally downloading music/movies and/or b/worse!
Should this person be allowed internet access? Maybe this person has some very good reason to be paranoid. Cause if you aren't doing anything wrong, why worry about it?

Command Q didn't work,
I registered the machine to Homer J. Simpson of 742 Evergreen Terrace,
Apprently the United Nations tracks internet use to track down those who might threaten the rise of the anti-christ... or something like that.

And now that you've written that, the internet police will zero in on this very thread...
