I have noticed that at some point, (because of software updates, I assume) my Plantronics M2500 bluetooth over the ear mike/earpiece does not work any more.

It's still listed in the preferences but whenever I try to use it I get a message saying,

"Blutetooth audio failed. There was an error connecting to your headset. Make sure it is turned on and within range."

I'm certainly within range - two feet from the computer - and it worked just fine until earlier this summer. There was no crunch moment, just one day after a long summer break away I noticed I couldn't Skype anymore. I've put off dealing with this problmen for a while now but another thread reminded me of it.

Any one have any immediate ideas? Has anyone had software updates screw up their peripherals?

I lost my printer and had Airport problems when I updated to 4.7. I had to reinstall the driver and reset my Airport express. Everything works well now.

The best thing you can do is try to re-install your software.

If things seem flakey, it might be a good idea to download the combo updater from Apple's site and re-apply it. Seems to fix a lot of quirks.
