Personal wiki programs?

I've been checking out and playing with Voodoo Pad http://flyingmeat.com/voodoopad/ for the past hour or so. Does anyone know of something similar that is not only free, but has themes or something to make it look good?

I think it's a neat idea, but I'll only do it if I can make it look nice (I'm a designer, can you blame me?) Voodoo Pad can do images and text which is nothing amazing.

You'll probably find that most wiki's are not pretty by default, and they almost always have a very limited interface for what you can and can't do in them. As for skinning or tempating I'm not sure... I never went there with wikis.

There is an OSX port of MoinMoin (think that's what it's called) that I used for quite a while. It's free, super simple to setup, and even had a menu bar control item, worked very well on the server end of things. I put it through it's paces at my old job .. it saw a LOT of posts and pages and came through with flying colors.

Have you looked at something like http://www.tiddlywiki.com/?

You can download it and run it locally and since it's just HTML you can fancy it up however you want as long as you don't break the wiki code.

There are lots of wikis out there that are similar - google around - and you might find what you're looking for. Free is good in this case.

This looks like a good compliment to MoinMoin. http://moinx.antbear.org/

Maybe I should be looking more at setting this up as my own web server thing and running it like that. hmm.

winwintoo - Looking into that, thanks for the link.
