Computer Repair, Kingston

Well im heading off to Kingston in September for schooling, (not at the kingston pen though lol) and want a Macbook. I am in the process of convincing my dad, and one of his concerns is repairs. If my macbook has a problem how would I get it fixed? Are there any "apple authorized" types in Kingston that you know of, or if I want that do I have to go to Toronto? Finally if I just got it repaired by the university IT guys does that void my warrenty???

Any help is greatly appreciated.
