So, now that Christmas is surely but steadily coming to an end, what did you get for Christmas?

I guess I'll go first, I got Halo, a snazzy 40 gb iPod, and a Futureshop gift card for $100.

:D

Still have 15 gb of free space on the iPod mentioned above, so if anybody feels a bit fat and jolly, and in the spirit of Christmas and giving.....wanna donate some CDs so I can fill the storage capacity to the brim.

Josh Stone CD ( amazing voice - even more amazing story behind it ).

MacAdamia nut chocolates - superb with coffee.

A long wanted hunk of Sweet Grass to burn - my one remaining piece was getting very small.

Hugs and happiness from the kids ...best of all. :D

adagio - That is one heck of a Christmas present.

Personally us kids got our dog for Christmas. And its been a blast. No big presents, but our dog is the best Christmas present ever. (Along with the realization that having our family around to spend it is just as good.)

Wineglasses from the local dep (depanneur=corner store +wine/beer) Slight heartburn from the roast beast and wine; phone(s) that almost stopped ringing, for a whole day
Think I noticed some more grey creeping in as well-time, the gift that keeps on, giving... I have boxes of stuff I bought/got two or more months ago that I still haven't had time to open..any day of the week can be like Xmas, if you let it. ;)

My parents don't send me cards with money any more-even got my address wrong this year; guess I'll have to make a visit, but in the summer-it's cozy in the chateau, in ze vinter...

Why do we all always get socks and underwear?

My girlfriend got me a gold chain and pendant, although I rarely wear jewelry. Also got Age of Empires II, a sweater, a gift certificate, couple of extra pounds after all the Christmas dinners and I bought myself a 20G iPod... :D

If you are impressed with what I got for Christmas...Hold on...
My girlfriend out did me with a really nice Samsung 27" HDTV,
Yow!!!...Is that ever nice.

We were up at "The Bay" at 8:00 a.m. this morning to beat the
crowds to take a leisurely stroll through the T.V. section and
take our time deciding how she should cash in her gift certificates.

We also nabbed a cheapy DVD Cybervision player for $58. just
to use until we decide on a better one.
She's still out there looking for an expensive bed over at Sleep Country.

I'm just sitting around the house waiting for the T.V. to be
delivered, I guess it's a bit of an advantage getting things on a
non holiday, You can get them delivered the day you buy them.

BTW...We're enjoying a nice warm muddy Toronto at the
moment, We drove for six hours yesterday from blizzard city
Montréal...We couldn't believe how nice Ontario is compared to
Quebéc...It's like night and day...Amazing.

Anyways...I guess everyone will be sitting back and taking er
easy for a while until New Years, Enjoy the holidays.

Cheers!

I bought myself a little present on boxing day.
The cell phone I was using was a Fido pay as you go. I don't use a cell phone all that often. But when I did need to use it, Fido coverage was abysmal. I got the phone for free from a neighbour, and only had a auto charger for it.

I looked around the other day at Rogers, Bell, Fido and all their pre-paid plans required buying a new phone for about $150. I also want to have a phone in case of emergency etc.. while I go to MWSF. Non of the pre-paids really work for roaming in the US. Or if you do need to call, you have to give your credit card # first.

I looked a monthly plans and phones, but nothing really excited me.

Then I went to the the Telus booth and inquired about their phones and plans. Well, to cut to the chase, I bought myself a new LG 4600 phone . Price for the phone.... I get $30.

Phone is normally $300. The young guy at the booth was in a hurry to close and I think he may have goofed and given me too many promos or something. I got a $150 credit for trading in my Fido phone (Which I didn't have a charger for). I got the boxing day sale of another $100 off the phone. I'm getting a $70 mail-in rebate on the phone (which will leave me +$30). And because I just signed up for 1 year contract, I got all system activation fees waved.

Phones really cool with nice colour screen. Can't do the iSync thing or anything, but I coudln't find a phone that was anywhere close to me getting paid $30.

Telus has excellent digital coverage, even up in Huntsville where I go to by brother-in-laws cottage. (Which is where I was when the power went out in the summer and had no working Fido phone)

Like the LG phone. Nice colourful, animated menus, nice solid feel... even a very well laid-out and clear manual.

Telus is great! I will go there again when I get a new phone.

For Christmas, I got the Sims 'Unleashed' (I'm a Sims fanatic), 'Rudolph' on DVD, Dixie Chicks concert DVD, Pilates ball, Direct TV satellite, some clothes and lots of candy. I love the Sweet Time story books!

My New Years resolution is to buy an iBook! Or if they release lower-end iPod's after the Keynote, I'll get one of them. My sister got an RCA Lyra Mp3 player for Christmas and it's awesome, but I know it would pale in comparison to an iPod. So now I really want one!
