Mac Mini CPU upgrade

This may have been psted before, but the CPU in the Mac Mini -- perhaps some other Macs as well -- can be upgraded.

Yup. Most if not all Intel Macs will have socketed CPUs.

Ya, good of you to specify the INTEL Macs. I just left it as an assumption for our fellow readers

This should prove to make things very interesting!

The $64,000.00 question that has been rolling in my head lo these past months is whether of not there will ever be CPU upgrades for G5-powered Macs, mainly, the towers. If IBM continues to use Altivec, then maybe there's a possibility down the road. But, my gut says that the answer over time will come to be "no", and that the G5 platform has somewhat of a dead-end in its path...
