The $64,000.00 question that has been rolling in my head lo these past months is whether of not there will ever be CPU upgrades for G5-powered Macs, mainly, the towers. If IBM continues to use Altivec, then maybe there's a possibility down the road. But, my gut says that the answer over time will come to be "no", and that the G5 platform has somewhat of a dead-end in its path...
