Boot Camp Use Issues - A collection of issues from Apple's Discussion Forums

Thought I'd do the courtesy of posting this for actual *users* of bootcamp, esp. for the MacBook Pro:

Renaming the Windows XP Drive: apparently a non-issue
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....33147&tstart=0

Clock settings: a known issue, best to set the clock to sync with a server so that time gets set on every boot
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....33290&tstart=0

Slipstreaming SP2 into SP1 Disc: if you don't have a full SP2 disc, you can still slipsstream SP2 into your Windows disc, burn an ISO file and use that; of course, if you don't have access to a Windows machine, this may be a problem
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....33290&tstart=0

Gaming compatibility and performance issues:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....2542&tstart=15

iSight on MBP inconsistency: some report it works, others not
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....2350&tstart=30

Control-Alt-Delete issues: two workarounds, one involving third party SW
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....2372&tstart=45

File sharing across partitions: I don't want to use FAT32, and if we use NTFS, we can read, but not write to the XP partition. The other alternative is to allow Windows XP access to the Mac partition, using something like MacDrive.
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....2714&tstart=45

Trackpad click enable? No answer yet, but this thread asks the question of how to enable the click of trackpad.
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....2738&tstart=45

Right click issues: requires third party SW
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....2226&tstart=90
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....32915&tstart=0

The no whine under XP thread, suggesting it is a SW issue:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....3208&tstart=15

Optical output on, resulting in red LED and paniced Mac users:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....33140&tstart=0

And of course, the requesite FAQ: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303572

Hope this helps,

This quote made me laugh...

"While I have nothing against Macs I agree with that. I've heard so much poo from Mac users over the years that I now almost believe that pressing the Flower Key will read your thoughts.

Got a Mac?
Want to write an essay? Just press the Flower Key!

Want to surf the web? Just press the Flower Key!

Want to organize your address book? Just press the Flower Key!

Want to write the next Harry Potter book? Just press the Flower Key!"

If you have an issue with this posting of mine (on a non-Mac forum - there's a reason I didn't post it here), please start your own thread, and not piggy back on this purely thread which is meant to be purely informative. Thanks.
