Internet Explorer for mac

I love Safari and Firefox for mac but since we live in a Microsoft world we sometimes have to take one for the team. My school's website works really badly with those 2 browsers and they recommend strongly IE when I submit work through the web in order not to have any problems.

I have acquired the .dmg file on my USB drive and am willing to install it just for Submitting projects and it only takes like 8mb on the hard drive.

Question is: Does it do weird random things to the machine? eg.: Norton

Help would be appreciated

it will make you spin out of control, turn over trash cans, and beat old ladies up in the street...

as well, using anything from microsloth will cause cancer, hemroids, and most certainly allow yer ex wife to take more than half yer money.. it has also been linked to terrorism and has been known taint water supplies.. hell it will show up in yer worst dreams, and can be known to push you over the edge..

hahah, IE for Mac is horribly slooooow for me. I don't think you have to install it, your Mac should come with IE on it already. I use Camino and it submits stuff just fine for school...

I never had any "problems" with it but you will find that it's functionality is limited since Microsoft stopped supporting it on the Mac at version 5. You might find that it doesn't work that well with your schools website either. Test it out and see if works to submit your assignments it might just get you by.

I would also make loud noises in the direction of the IT department about being forced to use an inferior and somewhat unsecure browser.

Okay I know I'm up late, but anyways...

I had to use IE back then and couldn't find it, so I decided to try opera.

I think both browsers are acting pretty much the same, so most of the stuff that required IE worked in Opera.
Now, if you can stand the long launching time (8-9 seconds on my iBook), then you should try it out.

Safari, firefox, and netscape all don't work with Blackberry's mail site, believe it or not. I use IE solely for that, and I get frustrated ALL the time!

It's ok if you need it, though.

I keep IE around just in case and it recently came in very handy when I had to test out a site.

visit msn with IE, and that says it all. As a web developer, I don't support IE whatsoever. Not anymore than I would support netscape 4.

If your school's website doesn't work well in mac firefox, there's problems that need to be addressed.

Rumor has it, if the site does not work properly in FireFox, then the site was not designed properly to beggin with.
