Illustrator CS performance on DuoCore MacMini?

It's frustrating that Apple Yorkdale doesn't have any Adobe products loaded on their Intel based Macs.
I see their point in that it might give buyers a bad vibe about Rosetta or the Mac in general.

But before I buy, I want to know is how Illustrator CS (2) runs on the new Intel Mac Mini. Can anyone report back as to how well it performs?

Would be a bonus if you've had experience with Illustrator on a G5 iMac and could give me a relative comparison.

BTW CarbonKen, do you have Adobe Illustrator on your Intel Mac Mini demo model?

I don't know for sure but i know that the Macbook runs Photoshop quite a bit slower than the iBook. That can't be too good in terms of the mac mini.

Oh and, i think it was on this forum somewhere, but apparently windows photoshop in WINE runs quicker than mac photoshop on rosetta - i have no substantiation for this nor do i claim it to be true, just what i read.

I keep hearing mixed reports.. unforuntetly a lot of it is people talking without actually knowing. A good portion of folks say that any Intel Mac with a bucket-load of ram will handle most of the Rosetta stuff without much trouble or slowdown (not quite as snappy mind you). But people running Photoshop CS2 with 512mb of ram through Rosetta are obviously going to run into trouble.

I'll be more than happy to report how it runs with 1.5GB's of ram just as soon as my MBP arrives..
