Air Miles from Apple.ca

I don't know whether you have already discussed this (didn't see a thread on it), but you can get Air Miles on purchases from Apple online if you go through yourshops.ca

You can also get rewards from tigerdirect, chapters, amazon etc. but Apple is a fairly new addition.

If you listen to audio books, consider buying an iPod through Chapters.ca and get $125 off. Here's a linky http://snipurl.com/mybc

You have to sign up for a 1 year commitment at Audible.com, but if you're going to listen to and buy the books anyway, it's not a bad deal.

Also, Audible is not very good at accounting for gift certificates *wink* watch your mail box.

I just found out about Air Miles and Apple.ca the hard way.... one week after I'd put my order in for a PB.

You can't go back to retrieve points. I tried. The sale has to come by first logging into YourShops.ca then clicking on the individual site from there.

That's awesome. To give people a hint, 18 air miles on an iPod 30GB, 99 air miles on a iMac 20" Intel Core Duo, 114 air miles on a MacBook Pro, 349 on a PowerMac G5 Quad + 30" ACD, plus 5 bonus air miles for making the purchase in the first place. Now there's incentive to buy online, unless people prefer AeroPlan milesfrom Future Shop.

I'm an Airmiles collector so this is good news but, just to put things in perspective, 1 Airmile is worth ~$0.15 so bear in mind that it's not a huge discount.

Yeah, but you get 9975 of those airmiles... and you get a free Digital Rebel XT.

I'm about 70 miles away from my new Nikon D70. I have already received through Airmiles a wine fridge, a Sony home theatre system for the bedroom, a point and shoot digital camera, two electric ATVs when the kids were small, a ride-on john Deer tractor for a nephew, a dv camcorder, walkie-talkies, many car washes, various kitchen small appliances, and a few others I can't think of right now.

Even at only $0.15 per Airmile, the cost of the program is worth it. I have been saving points for about 2 years to get the Nikon D70 (14,000 points). That's about $130 in fees for the 2 years to get a $1500 (approx) camera. Don't consider the points to be a savings on items purchased, they are worth far more than that.

Damn, how much do you spend a year to get all those points?!!

At $15/point, that works out to $210K
What did you do, buy a home with your credit card?

Pretty much. We built a cottage with materials from a store that gives Airmiles and payed them using a credit card that gives Airmiles. I buy my groceries with that same credit card and pay many of my bills with it as well. A large chunk of the money that goes out of our household gets some sort of point. Might as well use em.

That being said, all of that stuff was acquired over a number of years. It is nice every now and then to get a package in the mail that you didn't have to pay for.
