Exclamation How do I make iChat Rogers Friendly?

It seems like everyone is having problems with Rogers these days... Between BitTorrent, Acquisition and now iChat, nothing seems to work properly. Rogers claims they aren't blocking ports, but Google around a bit and you'll find threads all over the place proving that they are. And the problems seem to be different for everyone.

For instance, I'm on 3web (which is just a Rogers reseller) and can Acquire (that would be the correct active present tense, right?) without any problem but not BitTorrent, and I can use iChat for text with other Rogers clients, but audio and video conferencing don't work.

Meanwhile a friend of mine on Rogers directly who lives only 4 blocks away can neither Acquire nor BitTorr, and he also can't iChat.

And another friend who's on a PC using Rogers in the same neighbourhood can BitTorrent all day at full speed.

But back to iChat... This one is the oddest and is the one I'm most interested in figuring out.

If I try and use iChat with someone else who's on Rogers - whether they are on a Mac or a PC using AIM - no audio or video chat works at all. Text is fine, but no AV.

BUT I CAN iChat/AIM audio and video with friends who are on Sympatico, whether they're in town, in Hamilton or London. Figure that one out!

So, it looks to me like there is something WRONG with the Rogers network that won't allow iChat to work within it.

Does ANYONE have an idea of how to fix this? Anyone having the same problems?

By the way, I'm in downtown Toronto in the Parkdale area if that mattters. I'd like to try testing iChat with people on different ISPs to see what does and doesn't work.
