Hard disk for iBook G4

I wish to replace the internal hard drive in my iBook. I know the chore is arduous, but I have done it twice before and am not afraid....I am not afraid!!!! Woo-hOo!

Anywho, I am wrestling between the following drives found at Canada Computers:

http://canadacomputers.com/index.php...234&cid=HD.517

And

http://canadacomputers.com/index.php...603&cid=HD.517

And

What brand of drive do you recommend? I am looking for value and performance. My current drive will serve well in an external case to help transport my student's files.

I had DPI install an 80GB Hitachi 4200rpm into my iBook G4 1GHz and it has been great. No regrets about the choice of drive.

The Fujitsu drive that you listed is a SATA (serial ATA) drive; I don't think the iBook takes SATA drives. All are 5400, which I would recommend for a speed increase over the 4200 drives Apple typically uses in iBooks (and did use in PowerBooks). I bought a Samsung for my Cube awhile back because of its low noise and power consumption and am very happy with it. If these are issues for you, you might want to check the reviews for noise and power. According to a review of 5400 rpm notebook drives by SilentPC http://www.silentpcreview.com/article207-page1.html, the Samsung is the quietest of the drives, but not the fastest.
