Preview does give a bunch of exif data. I'm not a Pro photographer, so I'm not sure what info you need beyond the 16 properties Preview provides.

One thing I use all the time but I find people don't necessarily know about is the slideshow built right in to Tiger.

Select one or multiple images, right-click and select "Slideshow". It gives you a full-screen slideshow and you can fit to screen and go through the thumbnails.

Very nice for quick and dirty "hey, come look at this" moments.

Preview works quite well, and you can open a bunch of images at once.

On your selected image look under tools and select Get Info. Most of the good stuff is right there. You can do a slideshow too - under View.
