Users of old technology

I was wondering who still uses what might be considered old technology. Such as dial up modems, floppy disks, CRT monitors, power PC Macs.
I haven't used a floppy for years, since I got a CD burner. I do still have a 17" CRT monitor that I paid over $400 for and will not replace it until it dies.
I've never used the modem in either of my current 2 macs. They have always been on high speed.

LOL! Old technology in deed!

I'm using two 21" CRTs because it's pricey to replace the monitors of that size.
Speaking of old technology, does anyone still use SyQuest or EZ-Drives?

I still use floppy disks sometimes.

I also have dual 19" CRTs on my secondary machine, beautiful flat screen trinitron though. If they weren't so damn big I'd even be inclined to prefer them over my dual 19" LCD's on my main machine.

Sometimes old is the still the best.
LCDs don't come close to CRTs for colour sensitive work.
Use the modem on the mac to send out/receive faxes.

Here at work (high school), the newest computer I use is a PIII 500mhz with 256mb RAM, except for the eMacs in my multimedia lab.

We use floppies all the time. All the monitors are CRT. No dialup though. Ugh. I can't imagine.

Still have a CRT monitor hooked up beside an LCD.
(Agree with you who find the LCDs still don't compare favourably to CRTs for critical work.)
Also, I still have loads of transcribed songs on floppies, but I have to print them off at work... er, at a friend's house, when I want to read them.

Just used our 200 mb Syquest drive yesterday to retrieve a job from 96. Good thing we kept that beige G3 around. Took me two minutes to hook up the old SCSI drive, reboot and worked like a charm. Like riding a bike! I have a 44 mb Syquest at home, but don't use it!
