I just purchased a Sony Ericsson T616 from Fido. It's the aluminum case one with the integrated camera and the larger 65K colour screen.
Anyway, it has Bluetooth built-in and I was wondering how many ehMacers here use Bluetooth devices and Macs. I would love to hear some personal testimonials so to speak.
Do you also have the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse? Do they interfere with your phone? What Bluetooth module should I get as all my Macs don't have Bluetooth built-in.
i have a SE t616 and i use it with my 12" pb g4 via bluetooth, i have only iSync'd my contacts and calanders so far, and sent a couple pictures to the phone via bluetooth.
i am with rogers, eventually i am hoping to use the phone as a bluetooth wireless modem so i can surf the net from anywhere!!!
too cool
my first t616 was actually defective, the camera wouldn't save the images to the phone...so make sure yours ifs functioning 100%, seems to be a common defect
I have a T610 which I use with iSync and a wireless earpiece. All works well, and certainly better than the Palm synch! I use the buiult-in bluetooth of my PB12. Don't forget that your phone also has IR, so you can use it with older machines too (eg Palms for beaming Vcards).
Enjoy your new toy!

I have a 12" PB G4 and a Sony Ericsson T68i and a Palm Tungsten|T
I have to say that the Sony Ericsson T68i and PB play together alot nicer than the Tungsten|T and PB
YOU MUST GET "Sailing Clicker" there is no sweeter Bluetooth app combo than that. It is shareware (I immediately bought it as it worked flawlessly and was so cool). Essentially you get to use your phone as a remote control for your Mac...
I cannot recommend it more highly. It is simply awesome... it gave me shivers.
DJ - I can get my palm T to see my PB (T -> PB) - but did not work the other way around (PB -> T). Not sure what the issue is or what I'm doing wrong. I have the D Link adapter DWB 120M. A little bummed about it too... . I also heard about that RC app as well. I want to use for my next round of sales appts + MS PP or Keynote. I'm stoked!
h!

Yeah seriously that Sailing Clicker is so sweet... I use it at home for iTunes (can switch tracks and control volume) and on the road when I do presentations.
It is one of the best examples of device integration I have ever seen... this is what smart devices is all about.
You can even set it for proximity functions... so when you leave the room it automatically puts you mac to sleep... or it will automatically launch applications when you walk into the room.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record (yes, you need to be old enough to remember LPs! ), I would strongly recommend throwing away any palm and replace that + phone with a symbian all-in-one. This means Nokia 9210i (old, clunky) or Ericsson P800 (much smaller, very good).
All Palm problems come from the poor design of the Palm OS. I can't believe those guys were able to design such a dog when they had over 10 years of brilliant Psion and Newton design in front of them! This is one case where if MS wins it is because the incumbent was plain bad...

Hmmm... Moscool. what about the Kyocera?? A buddy of mine just got one, and I may not know how well it performs - he's hella green. Actually, I don't even think that it's BT. Is it? Will check.
