It could have been a retailer that doesn't exist anymore,
Like Microboutique, MacBoutique or variation thereof that used to be on Toronto St.
Maybe MacDoc knows...Maybe MacDoc was the first dealer ...Nawwww.

Here's something cute I found:

I do beleive Arkon which was down on Queen St. in Toronto.
They were selling Apple long before the Mac came along and several of the previous staff are still active in the Mac industry and have some degree of association with us.

We started in Nov 1985 on a pure consulting basis - it was a few years before we did hardware but I can still tell you what resistor to clip to get 4 meg RAM capacity on a Mac Plus ( such an annoying procedure the details have stuck around )

Arkon was very active with Apple][+ etc in the early 80's I remember a person by the name of Schwartz who always had time for the Hobbiest Surplus strore next door and many fine cafes for lunch Up on College there was another Apple Dealer which was more upscale Bought a Star Micro printer for 649 bucks .
The hole in the wall across the street sold virtually nothing but bare clone Apple ][+ mother boards and kits of all the sockets and chips to make an Apple ][+ clone and circuit boards for all the slots asian cases and keyboards .......ah the good old days Still have such a board in a custom case with a Volker Craig terminal 404 keyboard

Takes a Vancouver person to answer this one eh!

I believe it was Byte Computers on Burrard St. in Vancouver. I lived a few blocks away in the late 70s when they started selling Apple computers.

Several years ago Westworld of Alberta bought them out and moved a few blocks away to a location in West Broadway, where they still sell Apple products.

Vancouver would make sense.

My first Apple was actually a Chinese Apple II+ clone, complete with dual floppy disk reader, 64k of memory and a joystick.

I bought it in Ottawa in 1982 or 83, although I can't remember were from (some obscure dealer near U of O)
