Check out that price! The standard Mac Mini for $399.00 US.
Yet when I click on "Buy Now", the page loads up the Canadian apple store where the price is listed as $629.00. This is no special deal to be sure.
Can Canadians get the same deal? It should be closer to $479.00 Canadian for that deal. Something I'd like to know.
canadians have always had to pay more for apple products. it takes a loooonnnnggg time for apple to make changes to prices due to the exchange rate, and even when they do apple still leaves the canadian prices higher than their U.S. counterparts.
Oooops, in my "Why does apple hate us canucks" rant, I didn't see the "refurbished" part of the deal. I guess it's a used product anyway.
A good freind of mine is looking to buy a new computer, and I suggested the Mac Mini due to it's price. She only wants to use it for web browsing and word processing, so I thought the Mac Mini would be a good fit.
Anyone know of any places to get good deals in Canada on Mac Minis? Or is it best to just order online through the apple store canada?
I dunno, recently, I think Apple's been doing a better job of adjusting Canadian prices to reflect the exchange rate. C$629 isn't THAT far off the exchange rate for US$499 (though the gap has widened somewhat with the stronger dollar in recent weeks).
As for good deals on minis, aside from MacDoc or any of the other GTA retailers, you might want to check out CompuSmart. I recently saw they had Rev.A minis bundled with printers for as low as $499 (if memory serves).

You can order from that page by calling the US Apple number, and FedExing a money order or using an american credit card. Unless they have changed this -- they have no problem sending it to Canada.
Back in the day, when a powerbook used to be a very expensive computer I called about that. Ultimately I got a better deal from eBay on a non-refurb, but their deal is ok too.
