Question

Anyone had the courage to upgrade 10.2.7 on your new 12" Powerbook to 10.2.8? And is so, any problems encountered?

I find people are far too worried about Apple OS X updates. Since the new version has been released and no one has encounted serious problems with it, just go for it. I've updated two machines to 10.2.8 without problem.

I updated a Rev 1 12" that I have on display in my showroom. It broke an Apple demo program I had running and sometimes it takes a long time to boot. Other than that, everything seems fine.

Well Lars, I took your advice not to worry and took the plunge. Upgraded both the Powerbook and the eMac to 10.2.8. No issues with the Powerbook so far, BUT it completely destoyed my mail program on the eMac. Gone was my regular email address and much to my surprise, I was now a ".mac" email subscriber, which I am not. As well, all of my previous email in the inbox, sent, drafts etc. mysteriously just disappeared. Thank God I hadn't set up the Powerbook for mail yet. Now I know why I worry in spite of your optimism. I will forever regret the loss of some of those emails. @#$%^&*!
