VideoChat Messenger Compatibilities..

I'm going to uni in the fall and was thinking about buying a webcam to talk to my gf. First off shes uses a PC so I'm wondering if there is a IM out there for Mac with a PC version that will work for videochats. Last time I heard MSN doesn't support video on the Mac end. Currenty I don't believe Adium supports it either. So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

Thanks

Doesn't AIM for PC and iChat work together for Video chat?

I have used services like iVisit (PC to Mac video chat for free in tiny window or larger for $40/year or close to that). Session I think is another one.

Most require new copies of windows to run (XP)

PC > Mac
AIM > iChat = Audio & Video
MSN > Mercury = Video & Text
Yahoo > Yahoo = Video & Text

Send a message via AIM to harzack86
I'd add to andreww's good reply my subjective $0.02 worth comment ;-)

AIM <-> iChat : really poor quality on the PC side compared to iChat...
Yahoo <-> Yahoo : similar average quality (althoug the video is somewhat slow, there is no voice and yahoo crashes quite often ;-))
MSN <-> Mercury: ok. I need to check if this config doesn't have voice too when using the video conference option.

There is also Skype <-> Skype, for a great voice (might be a good mix with Yahoo for the video) and read they are planning on adding video support by the end of this year.

All these solutions require good CPU and high speed connection.

I though the latest version of Mercury supports WebCams and even has Video Conferencing...
