I'd like to submit my fellow ehMacers to another poll (there seems to be a lot of them recently) to test my hypothesis that iPods and cell phones will not be complementary products -- at least not long term when cell phones are equipped with a decent battery, hard drive, etc.
I personally believe that most will either pick one or the other for their mobile music needs, the reason being that either 1) no one will want to purchase and cart around 2 devices when one does the job, or 2) not-regular cell phone users will continue favouring the iPod over any music-equipped cell phone.
Thoughts?

I never hesitate to listen to music when sitting down in front of my computer (an advantage of headphone usage), but I also never hesitate to take my iPod with me on voyages where I know I'll have long idle periods during which I'll have time to listen to music. Because I frequently only listen to music away from my computer during long idle periods, I need to have a very extensive collection of music in order to keep myself entertained (I *really* hate listening to the same song more than once in a day) and current mobile phones just don't have the capacity to keep up with that demand for me.
Ummm.... where is the selection for stereo system or home theatre? Or is that too old fashioned? Plus, there should be an all of the above category (depends on where I am - I use Airtunes to stream to my stereo but also use an iPod in my car, a shuffle when walking and a computer occasionally).
I second UTBJ. Where's the home stereo option? I usually plug my iPod into my stereo, and I'm sure there are a lot of people who use Airtunes through their home audio systems.
In the poll, I checked iPod shuffle/computer, though I don't have a shuffle just a regular iPod, but iPod/computer wasn't an option.

I second macsackbut, where's the iPod / Computer option? Anyway.
I'll Never use a mobile-phone music player. It just can't do the job. I enjoy music almost 4 to 8 hours a day. (When I'm working, in front of my computer, outside, traveling, moving around the house, etc.) And I have like...5-6 Gigabytes of music right now and it increases by 1 Gigabyte every 6 months.
I like diversified types of music, from techno/trance to rock and pop, to relaxing (yeah, lol) songs. A phone just can't do the job right now. I want all my music with me and I'm sure that in 4 or 5 years, my music librairy will be double-sized, if not triple-sized.
My sound system is my computer. I have a 200 watt surround hooked up to it. On the move, it's the iPod Mini. The poll should have just been iPod/Computer.. not shuffle.(Shuffle is an iPod). My computer is also a laptop, so I've been known to take it to parties and hook it up to stereo's
