If you look in those screenshots you will notice the computer is booting and there is no VNC icon.

My mistake, the Dell video clearly has a VNC icon in the (very very busy) dock and has been widely discredited. These shots are from a ?Toshiba Media Centre PC and the suspicion is that there is a video feed running the X screen from a neighbouring (but perhaps not pictured) Mac. The Info box does look convincing however.

Nevertheless, there are no sources for this X build on the net currently which does make sense since apparently there are no DVDs of the OS itself (it comes preinstalled on teh dev boxes). The two purported copies (weighing in a implausible sizes of 600+ and 900+ megs) have both been revealed to be fakes. Funny fakes but fakes nonetheless.

I suppose that we can all wait for Mac-A-Rui to come back and confirm that the file he/she's d/l'd is real (and not the, erm, bootable same sex sex video that one of the above packages apparently carries) and post screen shots. Then you'd see the hit rate for ehMac go through the roof and we'd all be famous.

I suspect we're going to be waiting a very very long time however.

it's really easy to make a fake. one very easy way that don't even need VNC is by recording an OSX screen on video and play it back full screen (with same resolution screen).

Question

What's "VNC"?

VNC is Virtual Network Connection. It allows you to use a computer virtually from another. A lot like Apple Remote Desktop, or Remote Desktop Connection from Microsoft.

Although, not as many features of Remote Desktop of course. (it's free)
