In the root library directory on my Mac with Jaguar is a MySql folder perhaps if you just deletd it and resinstalled the older one...if you can find an older version.
I tried wordpress on a PC and couldnt get it to work either so, dont throw away your good stuff just for that.
No, he's having trouble installing wordpress , not MySql, and getting old versions of MySql for MacOSX is uite difficult- if that is indeed the cause. Then of course you should have backed up your data first before making changes.
