PRICE CHECK: 15" 1.5GHZ Powerbook (2004)

Wondering what my 15" Powerbook 1.5GHz is worth. Curious to know as I would like to get a 17" model with similar specs and would consider selling this if the price difference wasn't too bad.

Specs:

1.5 PowerBook G4 15"
128MB Video Card
4x Superdrive
80 GB HD 5400 RPM
1GB RAM (one stick Kingston PC 2700)
Under original warrantly until August 2005

Overall condition is really good, screen is perfect (no dead pixels), recently had bottom casing replaced under warranty, two very small marks (not dents) on the top casing, otherwise in perfect condition. This model has the backlit keyboard, Airport Extreme, Bluetooth 1.0 and the usual ports.

not sure. Older revision. What is batt life like?? I might say just around $2100?? Considering a 17" was just posted here for $2500+tax from retailer... Same spex. There's some new h/w on the horizon as well.

your referring to the 17" floor model from Best Buy @ $2500 +. Best Buy are also offering a new 15" 1.5Ghz for $2500 + taxes as well. I have 2 batteries, both get just over 3.5 hours each. Also, seeing that it has a 1GB stick of ram installed, leaving the other slot open, I would think this would add a little more value....but I could be wrong.

thanks for the reply.

I could be the wrong one. So much out there now. Yes... The 1G is hot. As well as the 2 batts (will in fit in a 12"? I could use one). $2500 might just be the ceiling then. Again, I just have this funny feeling about the new iBooks rumbling. If they get a 1.5Ghz boost, things don't look too good for PBs....

I agree, lots of PB for sale...even more so in the 12" configuration. Also, a battery for a 15" version will not work with a 12" PB (at least that's what I gather from looking at images of both side by side). At $2500 or so, I would consider a sale/trade and look for a 17" version, should only cost a few hundred dollars (at most) for the extra real estate.

As for new iBooks and the speed boost rumblings..it will be interesting to see how this affects PB pricing and demand...and will they follow that with a G5 PB ??
