Steve Jobs - Action Man

I posted this earlier in a mac mini related thread ... thought the rest of you might find this interesting.

Two weeks ago - after 8 weeks of waiting for my mac mini (1.4/airport/BT/512), and numerous phone calls to Apple - I decided to send an email to numerous Apple accounts - Steve Jobs being one of them (5 variations of his name, initials etc @apple.com).

Well, three days later, I received a call from Apple head office. They were asked to follow up on an email Steve Jobs received.

Too funny.

Although my email was fairly civil, I did do a bit of bashing regarding reseller orders vs online orders.

They went through the details of my email and assured me there were others in my position, however it was quite a long wait and they understand my frustration. They would look into it and get back to me - but from their records, it seemed like the following Tuesday, I'd have my mini.

Tues came ... then Weds, Thurs, Fri .. nothing ... and I heard nothing back. So, this past Friday - I called again, found the person I'd been talking with and he was very surprised that I had not received my mini or heard back from Apple. He was very apologetic and said that I would have my mini this week - and they would make it up to me - by upping my RAM from 512 to 1GB and throw in a bluetooth mouse to boot. Not bad.

Looks like I'll be getting my mini this week ... after 10+ weeks! With a gig of RAM and BT to boot! Just goes to show ... A LOT of persistance pays off (and the fact that Steve Jobs asked them to follow up - or whoever reads his emails)

But, I still don't have my mini.

Isn't it iCEO@apple.com? That worked for me... but that was a little over 5 years ago.

Let's see ... I sent it to steve, stevejobs, sjobs, sj and jobs @apple.com and @mac.com

Which one was it? Probably the most obvious one: Steve@apple.com

FWIW, Steve's public email address is steve@mac.com (Which is why their demos of .Mac have steve as their demo model. After all, he even has his resume on there!)

Yeah, but doesn't the "junk" button on Steve's Mail program look after all that stuff. (He says, tongue planted firmly in cheek.)

lol

Well, step in to the office to find a phone message from Apple Canada concerning my email to Mr. Jobs yesterday.

Maybe my DVI issue on my mini will get resolved afterall?
