Question

So far no reports in xlr8yourmac.com about this but I found this link where it says the A06 has "True Plug and Play for your favorite platform whether you use Apple Macintosh or Windows... Mac 9.1 and above, G3 or better Macintosh, PCI bus 2.1"

Can anyone confirm if this is accurate?

a) using toast
or
b) using X
BUT
There is no advantage to Mac users over the A05 which is cheaper.
c - getting a DVD to play on it is a problem in a beige but it's not an issue if you just want storage.
Email me if you have other questions thanks

I'm going to have to disagree here. All you need is a Rage 128 or better graphics card and it's done. I threw a DVD Combo drive into my Beige G3 and DVD-playback was instant without any hacks, mods, etc. and was as smooth as silk with a Rage 128 16 MB video card.

I can see the topic mutating a little bit. My question is "How do you get DVD playback with a Rage 128 in a PCI Mac ?"

Thanks - Terry O'Leary

To answer my own question, a Google search for ATI Macintosh Rage 128 brought the answer to the fore.

Sorry for wasting peoples time on this one.
