I haven't sent mail today but I did notice problems yesterday with Sympatico. I tried to send a couple messages and received a notice that it could not be sent through my preferred method and would I rather send through mac.com?

I'd love to remove the settings option of mac.com because if I don't select the "Send Later" option, it defaults to the Mac.com option forever and I end up having to trash the message and re-create it again later.

sometimes it's the smtp relay issue. some ISP don't allow you to use other smtp relay services. so you'll have to make sure the relay service is supported while sending through mail.

i think i had problems with Sympatico, it requires you to use its own smtp server. Rgoers is fine with 3rd party smtp.

Sympatico's outgoing SMTP server here in Toronto was acting up a day or two ago, Mail gave me error messages saying that the server was too busy. It seems to have cleared up for now. In general, the SMTP server path for sympatico is smtp*.sympatico.ca, where the * is a number (1 in Toronto). When the server was acting up, I found that changing it to a different number helped at times.
