Super Shuffle was a marketing ploy...

Why am I not surprised to see the name of Jack Cambpell linked to this?

Mr. C.'s interest seems innocent enough until...

Hi iMatt, this was discussed at the end of this thread and here too. Now if someone could slow Macaholic's prolific thread starts, maybe we wouldn't have to dig three pages to find stuff from one or two days before (sorry, Macaholic, I know you aren't the problem - there are just too many threads....).

Hi UTBJW, I know of the other thread, but I thought the hoax aspect was important enough to warrant a new thread. If the mods disagree, I won't mind if they opt for a merge.

Actually iMatt, like you, I found the irony of Jack Campbells involvement in "breaking the story" the best part of it. Talk about a shameless marketeer!

Ah, but there's more. In a nutshell: not only did Jack enquire about reselling the Super Shuffle, he also went sniffing around the Hymn project looking for developers to help him develop a utility to convert protected AAC to protected WMA. 1 + 1 = the iTMS-ready Super Shuffle, being sold by...guess who?

A brilliant evil scheme, foiled.

This is the fun part of being too sick to do anything productive...

Yes. See posts 9 onwards. He claimed Microsoft was one of the partners. If true (and admittedly thats a big IF, given the source) it could sign a re-ignition of the old Apple vs Microsoft legal battles (that have only been simmering for the past 5 years).

It's not. Jack is known for throwing around the names of people and companies who have no idea who he is.
