Apple to stock 512Mb RAM in all Macs w/ Tiger?

http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=945

Hmmm... makes me think that, if they're going to 512Mb with Tiger, that ONE GIG will become the minimum comfortable RAM count.

It would make a lot of sense...OS X loves RAM-
It may help to not aggravate new customers who don't know any better. IMHO- the mini runs fine with 256, but with Tiger, Who knows?

It's about friggin time, 256 hasn't been enough for a long time. I'm using an iBook with 256mb at work now and it's painfully slow especially after a couple of apps have launched.

LOL

I'd never consider buying a PC with any less than 1 GB of RAM!

Just for some perspective, Dell sells their two cheapest PC systems (at $400.00 and $600.00) with 256Mb RAM.

HP ships 512Mb on all PCs. Their cheapest PC starts at $756.00.

Apple aint shipping 512Mb RAM until you hit the dual 2GHz G5, fer Pete's sake

512Mb across the Powerbook line

256Mb on the consumer line.

Man, those PC prices are CHEAP. Pity you have to run OS X on 'em.

Would they potentially be upgrading the RAM in the mac mini's as well? If they were, I would be very interested, however, I don't know if they will make that jump.
