Mac mini - audio in? and transferring files

I read somwhere that the audio/ headphones out doubles as a line IN on the new mac mini. Can anyone confirm this? seems odd to me, as if you're using the audio in, then you theoretically wouldn't be able to hear or monitor what was playing...

Also, regarding the transfer of files from an old mac. i know you can transfer user accounts and all files associated via firewire.

At what point is it best to do this? Or does it not matter. Can i hook up my iBook and boot it holding 't' down, and do the migrate user account thing at any time?

What if the only thing i want to transfer is my address book?

According to everything I've seen, it has no line-in. You need a USB solution for that.

I suppose it's up to you, but wouldn't it make most sense to do it right away?

If you just want to move your address book over, IIRC you can just grab the AddressBook folder from [YourUserFolder]/Library/Application Support.
