Thumbs up Bookends????/mini's opposite number??

Is Apple developing a counterpoint to the Mac Mini? A new high-end workstation Mac with a "full-height" tower case, more expansion room than a PowerMac, and early-adopter features like DDR2-533 memory, PCI Express, as well as IBM POWER5-class processors has been spied in prototype form by reliable sources.

yummmmmmmmmmm

Is this supposed to be an update to the G5 PowerMac line, or a completely new product?

I'm guessing your source is MOSR (Macosrumors.com). Please pardon my extreme skepticism.

Notice the underline.
Still there is a need for an expanded internal drive setup. With the lower heat chips in use the cooling system can get smaller. The current tower drive setup sucks. Tho 800 gigs internal is reasonable I suppose.
That said big IBM crunchers will really need cooling as well as the high speed RAM so I'm not surprised if a prototype to test these things is around.
Reality???? Apple is going to milk the iPod, mini Mac for the near future. Why sell hardware when you can sell "cool".

Macdoc - I did notice the underline. But that has nothing to do with MOSR's history of inaccuracy, or Fox News style rumour journalism. There is a reason no one in the rumour scene doesn't take them seriously.

It is plausible, but given the source it's extremely dubious.
