Interesting Mac runs with mineral oil

Not sure why either, but I'm glad to see the HDD was left as an external, but maybe no oil could get inside that tiny 'do not cover' hole.

And maybe next time he should use some AC transformer oil that has much better heat transfer cooling capacity than mineral oil, and maybe add a ribbed case just for more cooling.

I've seen this a while ago. If I remember I think it's because mineral oil is non conductive or something like that.......any other theories ?

Maybe like those who like to challenge and climb mountains etc. because they are there, and because they can???

I sure didn't see any super results for doing the oil "submersion cooling" or what they were actually trying to accomplish.

A bit of a useless messy oil waste of one's lifetime IMHO.

I would think convection of the oil would cool everything and machine would be completely silent and dust proof.
Might be something in it as it might allow flood proof as well. Oil bathed iPhone/iPad on a mcycle....hmm. makes a seal for the headphones and the power input.
