Thanks for the info and I didn't realize that Logmein had a free version.
All previous times I checked it was a pay-for app, but maybe I was always ending up on their Pro version page that seems to include file sharing and maybe a bit more, but too pricey for my needs.
I gave the LogMeIn install a try last evening and I have a suspicion and wonder if it's install and operation is not some sort of a Windows port???
The first thing I encountered was a page asking for payment until I realized it was just for the Pro version.
Next was the "Add Computer" and my own iMac was shown a "Free -Offline for 94 days. WTH gives with that?!!
Next up I'm told my iMac needs a password and no options to do anything other than follow their fairly strict rules. I need to add a password to my iMac to use LogMeIn?? Gheese!!
Anyway, I'll give it a try.
I just took the screen shots below last night as reminders for me to check on later, and the red wine was kicking in well.
Edit: I forgot to mention the hassle to setup a user account which I did and entered my email address and I was informed the the account already existed. Huh?? And when all attempts to use any of my normal passwords I would have used failed, I ended up having to setup a new account all over again, but they kept refusing those attempts and I ended up getting multiple emails and click the link within 24 hours to again set my account password.
After three attempts it seemed to have worked. So God knows how many accounts I now have.
Well I've tried various Mac LogMeIn remote access stuff with the free version with various Macs and it does sortof work for my needs with it limitations, but it's time to uninstall which may be a hassle.
IChat works much better for my needs and with screen sharing and file sharing options enabled.
The final straw was the email I got this afternoon, many hours delayed.
And now beside the software uninstall which I hear is a PITA to do, I seem to have multiple accounts that I would like to remove.
Well I need some more help to rid myself from any and ALL LogMeIn stuff if anyone knows how.
All LogMeIn software stuff has been removed from our Macs, but when logging in to their user site it shows that I still have a Mac "account" to access an old Mac, but that account and it's Mac affiliation is dated 1970 which is bloody impossible, and then when attempting to update the info, it then finally says 2007.
Crazy!! I just want to delete and remove ALL my LogMeIn account info and for LogMeIn to do the same.
I guess I'll just have to contact them to remove ALL my account data as I can't find a way to do so on line, unless maybe some member knows of a method to do so.
I'm now a bit p'd off with LogMeIn now thanks and never again thank you, if and when I can get this last bit deleted forever!!!
