Strange. I haven't noticed anything with my iPad or my Xbox 360 and I use both daily.
I had the issue, as well as my parents across town, did not realize it was nation wide.
It was strange, somethings worked no problem, like streaming audio from a radio app on my iPhone, and a few webpages would load slowly, very slowly, but others would just never connect.
I didnt even bother calling Rogers as I knew it was something on their end and not just isolated to my house, as my parents had it as well. By next morning all was fixed.

the streaming of audio could connect probably it was using IP connection vs Domain Name Connection -DNS..
I was able to do my emails still as I switched out my mail settings to IP settings..
it is a good idea if you know both the IP and DNS setting of things you do/use every day in case this happens again.
