Depends on where it's shipping from. If it left from the GTA warehouse, and you didn't pay for express delivery, then it likely shipped via ground to BC.
I ordered a new Express the day they came out, and had it a day later.

As the subject says, what happened to Apple.ca fast shipping?
I ordered an AirPort Express Base Station, in Stock, 20 Jul, 2012.
The tracking says:
- Left Apple: 21 Jul, 2012
- it finally got Departed - Concord, ON, Canada, Tuesday, 07/24/2012
- Receive it: 30 Jul, 2012.
I have never had an apple.ca in stock item take more than 3-4 days max.
Maybe AirPort Express Base Stations just get low shipping priority or is something else going on in Ontario to cause the delay???
You also have two weekends in there, so take 4 days off the elapsed shipping interval.
Looks perfectly normal to me for regular shipping.
"Left Apple 21 July" was a Saturday, that's when the shipping documents were created and forwarded to the shipper, item would have been picked up by the shipper on Monday and left the shippers depot on Tuesday; then by ground to BC - three days sounds reasonable, probably got to BC on Friday after that days deliveries had already left the depot, so your item went out on delivery on Monday.
It appears to be getting shipped from their GTA warehouse and I guess it's getting the normal ground shipping to BC. Bummer.
Even an ordinary shipping on another order it made a week or so got shipped from Tennessee -> Calgary back to Tennessee (a shipping mistake the courier had no explanation for) and resent to Calgary then to Burnaby BC to Sidney BC (here) and it arrived in five days.
A refurb iMac I purchased for a client last year arrived here the next day which I thought was exceptional service.
Ten days from Ontario to BC seems a bit excessive.
But I just realized that the previous fast shipments came via Purolater, but the APBase is getting shipped via FedEx. Hmmm... I wonder???

Well, 21st to 30th is 9 days, not 10, then take off the two Saturdays and two Sundays and you're down to 5 days total.
Hopefully one of these weekdays wasn't a holiday in one of the provinces the goods travelled through or you would have "lost" another day.
That's the same with any courier company, they never count the weekends or holidays when it comes to shipping times.
