Today for the first time the Mail program that came with my iMac is automatically reducing the size of my photo attachments. For example, a photo about 500KB was reduced to about 15Kb.

I normally send my photos to family members about the 500KB size so they can print out a photo of a reasonable size.

Is there a way of setting or resetting my Mail attachment settings?

I am using Lion a my OS.

When you drag a photo into Mail, look at the bottom right corner of the Mail window. A drop down menu allows you to choose the photo size:
