today was the day the FBI - turned off their servers and let the world work it out.
I had a client on rogers who got caught on it..
It took about half hour to fix.. but it is all better now.

I don't know a single person who as told me they got hit. I think the new said there was something like 7000 people in Canada who might have still had it. Thats not a lot considering the number of computers there must be.
But tsk, tsk, how could you have left a client so exposed?? But yes I know, we can't hand hold all of them.
Oh man! Tough crowd. Normally I make sure the bathroom supplies and coffee machine supplies are topped up too..

Maybe and probably because some and most normal smart Mac users keep up to date as to what's happening out in the wide world web and know how to protect themselves.
But I'll bet that a few Canadian Windows users maybe still possibly got hit, but they and anyone would have to be living in a cave to not know with all the various warnings that have been posted on the 'net for some months now.
It was just a tongue-in-cheek jest remark md. No offence intended.
Do you also supply good cinnamon buns for the day's work as well and maybe some nice wine for after work hours??
being that my clients except all support for free and don't expect me to have a home or car to drive to get to them. LOL ( i park my car a block away so they don't see what I drive otherwise they would have a stroke. - remember the episode of Frasier - when they hire a plumber and they rub it in the guys face they drive a benz and the plumber replies - oh my wife drives the better one and the plumber drives a newer version LOL )
it is tim bits.. no more or less than that..
as for the clients who did get it.. it was more the modem had frozen/old dns info in it, which prevented surfing..
so we had to power off the modem for 5 mins and then turn off the firewalls after clearing the cache for 4 mins.. reboot all the wireless devices too..
after that it all worked..
