Rogers iPad Data Plans

I just came back from Rogers and signed up for a iPad data plan. They have a smoking deal guys! Today only:

$21.99 for 1G
Automatic Rollover to $36.93 for 10G

If you sign for one year or more, they give you a $100 credit!

Not that smoking. Compare $22 for 1G to $30 for 6G if you simply tether to an iPhone. That's a lot more money per G all told. With faster processors, you'll be tearing through those G's faster than before. How does "automatic rollover" work?

The double data is also only for 6 months. Still not a bad deal though.

Tethering to your phone isn't really ideal for most people.

Yea, I didn't get the 3G when I got my iPad 2, because I have an iPhone 4 with 6gb/$30 that I just tether when necessary

Ya, that only works if you have an iPhone which I don't.

I got an email this week with their new tiered data package.

Starts at $7.85 for 10MB, then moves you to 250MB if you go over for $18, then $37 for 5GB if you go over the 250.

I've never gone over 250 with my iPad2 - prefer to catch WiFi where available first.

Rather not lock into a particular plan with them...

Flex Rate Data Plan

Do you need to go to a Rogers store with your iPad to activate these plans, or can you just call Rogers to activate?

Thanks in advance.
