We have a new Apple store opening up in Waterloo this saturday, it will be nice to have another dealer around. Now I have an iPad 2 which has back light bleeding which is starting to bug me, at first I didn't mind, but the more I see it, the more I don't like it. Can an Apple store swap right on the spot? I know with Carbon they would have to send it away, then wait for a replacement to come. One of my hesitations of going through Apple or carbon is being without an iPad for a few days as I use it daily.
Can an apple store do this or do I still need to contact Apple and go through that whole process?

The Apple store will do it directly. If they don't have stock, they will call you when they do (usually a day or two) and then bring your iPad it and they'll swap it.

Thats what I was hoping for, thanks.

If you're going to the new Apple store make sure you set up a genius appointment before going. They will still see you if they can but you might have to wait longer.

I have booked a genius appointment before for my sister in Vancouver, the whole setup was dead easy and efficient, will be doing the same for sure this time to.
