Is it even possible, technically, to have the iPhone take 3D movies? I was told from 'an insider' that is why there are two slots on the next iphone, it is not for two flashes.
I do not understand how they take 3D movies, but am sure it would be to complex for an iPhone..
Yet, she has been a fairly reliable source in the past.
It's an easy technical possibility, there are other phones that do it the only real requirement is having 2 cameras a fixed distance apart and knowing that exact distance... Easy to do when both are mounted in the same casing... That said I DON'T see this happening... I've always felt 3D to be a little bit of a gimmick... Even when done professionally in hollywood movies... I don't see it catching on in the home market...
People have reported seeing iPad applications using the front camera for face tracking to create a forced perspective type 3D. This bypasses the need for anaglyph style stereoscopy so 2 cameras might not be necessary. I've not yet seen the two technologies combined as the former is mainly 3D graphics rendering, not the typical feature extraction we see with 2 flat images. I'm not even sure how well that would work.
It's possible, But...Nintendo would most likely develop it.
Let's leave iPhone out of the loop please.
