Restoring iPhone Software :(

Tried to update from jailbroken 3.1 to 4 and the phone seems to be STUCK. Disconnected and put it in DFU mode, connected iTunes again and it still seems to be stuck 3/4 ways through 'restoring iphone software'. Been waiting about an hour now.....

- should it take this long? if not, what else can I do?

Are your SHSH's saves on Cydia? If not,...do it right after this tutorial

if you require an unlock to use your phone.. DO NOT follow these instructions.

You'll need the most recent version of iTunes.
Download the iOS firmware for 4.1 for your phone (use google)
Turn phone completely off. Plug into computer, ...put into DFU.
Kill iTunes if it opens automatically.
Open TinyUmberlla,... start TSS Server.
Open iTunes, it will say your iPhone in in recovery, ignore it. (click ok..close it)
Option + Restore (MAC), shift + restore (I think for windows).. choose the firmware you downloaded earlier.
Should go through completely.
Use TinyUmbrella 'Kick out of Recovery' button to ...well..kick your phone out of recovery.
