Unlock ATT iPhone 3G for use on Bell Network

This has probably been rehashed, but someone is going to give me an ATT iphone from the states and I was wondering if it can be unlocked to work on the Bell network - if so, what needs to be done?

Thanks!

First find out what OS version you're using in settings. If you're using 4.0.1 or lower then you should just be able to navigate to jailbreakme.com and install Cydia. Then in Cydia download ultrasn0w and you'll be all set.
