iPhone 4 Supply

Rogers in Winnipeg said today they "have no idea when my iPhone 4s will be, but it sounds like it will be two weeks." Two weeks until they get more stock?! I also heard they only got a handful in on the launch day. They are also still selling on a first-come, first-serve basis, meaning I'd probably have to call each day just to find out when they get more phones in and then hope I can make it down in time before they're gone.

Can I sign up for a plan at an Apple store and hope I have luck getting a phone there sooner? (I currently don't have a plan with Rogers, so I'll have to go through the whole new plan process.) Is there someway else I could get an iPhone sooner?

Try Futureshop. When everyone (including the FS website) was saying that the iPad was sold out on launch week, Winnipeg Futureshops had a LOT of them in stock.

I'd recommend just going to the Apple store... they seem to be the ONLY stores getting regular stock shipments.

Can I sign up for a new Rogers plan at any of these places though? (so I can get the discounted phone for $269 for the 32GB)

Yes. Apple is an authorized Rogers dealer.

Thanks. Looks like I'll give that a shot. I didn't know you could sign up for plans from stores other than Rogers. (Looks like Future Shop is in the same boat.)

Apple Store will handle all upgrades for all carriers.

The line will just be longer than the line for unlocked.

Futureshop (at least on launch day) would only do new activations ('cause they get more comission from the carriers for new activations... )
