Was at the Applestore yesterday and noticed that they have cleared out most of their iPhones. Currently, they only have the black 8GB 3GS on display, so I'm guessing that the 4G will be the only model available in white going forward? Makes me happy that I chose to order white parts for my 3G restoration project
They have plenty of white 3GS iPhones in a warehouse for warranty replacements, I can attest to that. I've already had two sent to me in the past week, and I'm quite tempted to try a third. These things are such pieces of crap it's not even funny. The LCD in this one is so yellow and the colours are washed out... just awful to look at.
Anyway, I asked the CS rep if they're running out of these yet, she said no they have a warehouse full of them.
I'm sure they do, but they aren't selling them in their stores or on their site. As to the yellow screen, I noticed that on my 2G iPod Touch that I passed on to my daughter. The screen looks terrible when compared to my iPhone 2G. Fortunately, the trashed 3G that I'm about to restore has a nice crisp LCD.
I am confused by the references to the 8 gb 3gs. I thought that only the 3g was 8 gb, and that the 3gs was 16 and 32.
Not a big deal but did something change and I missed it?

The 8gb 3GS is the new 8gb 3G. The 3G is legacy now, while the 3GS will be filling it's position as the 'cheap model'.
