You beat me to it! I was just gonna post the same thing. Shame, I want an iPhone 4 ridiculously bad, but more-so, just want to know when it's coming to Canada.

I will delete my thread. But I propose that Fido customers continue to hassle Fido. We want answers!

iPhones delayed are iPhones denied!

My only problem with this is, do they have no timeline? Like none whatsoever? I talked to a friend who works at an Apple Store and was told "by the end of the summer". Could we not say that or something, anything?

Here's my latest theory...

They expected to have information at the time of the US launch. As did Canadian consumers. The US launch rolled around, and consumers started bombarding the carriers for updates. They had received no news from Apple, so they made up this email announcement.

I bet they thought it would be early July, like I was told by a CSR at Fido a week or two ago.

Has anyone thought to contact Apple Canada? Can they be reached via email?

I personally believe that Rogers/Fido very well knows when the iPhone 4 will land, as do Telus and Bell Mobility. They all knew months ago. You don't launch a significant product like this without having all the details worked out far ahead of time. They have all the pricing information, and they know the release date. This would be for product/sales director levels and up. They aren't telling the people on the lines (Customer Support, Retentions, Sales, etc.) due to this timetable. It may be a play to kick down the new startup carriers (Wind and friends), or for some other reason which I am unaware of.
