Can a regular apple wireless keyboard work with the ipad or do you have to buy the special ipad keyboard with the dock on it?

yep, I'm using the regular bluetooth keyboard, no problem. The only thing I keep expecting is to Command-Q or Escape to close an app, which it doesn't, but for the most part, everything works as you expect.

And not just Apple's Bluetooth Keyboard - pretty much Any Bluetooth keyboard will work with the iPad.

Yeah, the MS Bluetooth 6000, if you can find it cheap, works a dream. It's smaller and lighter than the Apple keyboard, but it retails for at least 10 - 20 more Canadian, unfortunately.

That said, the Apple wireless keyboard is a dream. Love the damn thing, one of the most enjoyable pieces of equipment to type on

+1. I use it just about everyday... nice tactile feedback.

And it's small and thin enough to fit easily in my Targus netbook messenger bag along with iPad and assorted accesories.

The RocketFish keyboard is available at BB, is $10 cheaper than the Apple BT keyboard and it has a numerical keypad.

True, but it's much bigger and far less portable.

That numerical keyboard would be awesome...
