So I was interested in hearing what people would consider to be their ideal ipad....what features would you add if you were Apple for the Gen 2 iPad next spring? I don't even have the thing yet but here are a couple of things I would change....
1)More storage. I would like 128-256GB of storage to be able to use it as a RAW file photo backup on longer vacations (on my recent 3 week vacation to Argentina I shot 60GB of pics, so even the 64GB won't be enough to back all of it up and have other apps/content on it for the plane rides)
2)Front facing camera for Skype, iChat. I see absolutely no need for a rear facing cam, the ipad is not the right form factor for taking pics. However, I think it would be perfect for sitting on the couch and having video chats.
3)SD and USB built in. I don't mind the idea of the camera connector but would love it built in however not if it comprimises space for the battery. Once battery tech improves to still get 10+ hrs with a smaller batter then I would like to see the USB and SD slots built in.
4)Ability to backup files from iPad to external USB drive (again I want this soley to have a 2nd backup of photos on vacation as I currently do with a netbook and MyBook Essentials drive. You can do this via Jailbreak, Apple needs to add this feature natively. Obviously would have to be a powered drive as the ipad can't power one of the portable ones.
More storage will be implemented when there's a yearly update to the iPad - similarly to the iPhone/iPod Touch. Next year we'll probably get 32/64/128 iPads.
The Front-Facing camera seems like a no brainer in the next iPad update - it's in the next iPhone... but it's also kinda weird, IMHO. I, personally, don't want to hold my giant iPad up to my face to have a conversation... seems weird to me, but others seem to want it.
SD/USB built in I could see - but as long as they're selling out of the Camera Connection Kits (which they are) I doubt they'd included the slots as a built in feature.
My List:
1. Tabbed Safari - Atomic Browser can do it and do it decently - makes for much easier navigation between the multiple pages. But to do it right - the iPad would need:
2. MORE RAM! - I hate that with multiple pages open - Safari has to refresh the re-pull the page down from the web 'cause it can't store the contents in RAM every time I switch back and forth between pages.

Steve Jobs re: iTunes on Windows: "It's like giving a glass of ice water to somebody in hell"
1) More RAM: at least 1GB. Writing graphics intensive code to work in ~120MB of RAM (the OS uses the rest) is a royal PITA. The iPad could do so much more if it wasn't for its measly 256MB of memory.
2) More flash storage space: a 128GB base model at least.
3) SD slot and at least one USB slot with the ability to use both for photo, video, music and document storage.
5) Higher resolution, higher DPI screen. While the quality of the display is outstanding, text in 768x1024 (even with anti-aliasing) is still rather eye straining after a short time.
Stylus support for note-taking, Even better if pressure-sensitive and can be connected to a MAc to use as pen input (Wacom Cintiq style)
More storage. As mentioned previously, 60GB is not that much for a long vacation. Although I may find that the display is good enough to be able to sort the pictures on the iPad and toss out the bad ones, which may alleviate this problem.
IR Transmitter. This thing would make the greatest home theatre remote in the world.
Support for playing itunes songs directly to an AirPort Express (It may already do this, but I have not seen it in the documentation)
