Canadian iPad reseller

Hello,

I've been asked by my work to purchase an iPAd for our lab (We do some mobile wireless video R&D, and there is some belief that this is a good device to evaluate video quality on).

Since this is for work, I can't just buy one off craigslist with cash. I need to be able to pay for it with a credit card and get a receipt. Are there any businesses in Canada that import iPads for resale?

Th alternative would be to go to a US Apple Store, but the closest one from Ottawa is pretty far away (there's not much in upstate NY) and I don't think they'd want someone to lose a day just to pick one up.

Cheers,

Luc

The only way is to either go to a US store or have one shipped to a US address. Either yourself or an intermediary. Apple has limited the number of units allowed for purchase making it unlikely you will find an intermediary company. You could pay someone to do this for you but you will have to pay for time and vehicle expense.

Heck I'd do it for you for the fees but you won't like the charges for me to do it.

Best bet - Make the drive if you can't wait.

there's also iUpgrade in Toronto.

They're located fairly near the Eaton Centre - though they do charge a hefty premium.

Canadian consumers are brutal when it comes to being asked to wait four weeks for an iPad...

iUpgrade is looking like a good option. I have to agree that as a consumer, I wouldn't bother trying to import one, but for our work, the development and testing we can get done in that month outweighs the small additional cost. We wew originally led to believe that it would be available in Canada at the end of April, and the fact that it is not is what is prompting us to get one this way.

Perhaps these opinions should be kept to oneself. It isn't up to you and you aren't going to sway the poster one way or the other. Without providing any valid reason for waiting you offer nothing. The poster has provided a reason as to why waiting doesn't make sense for his company. Why can't you just accept that and let it go (and by you I mean all posters who offer nothing but empty opinion, not you personally).
